Carroll Palrud
Carroll passed away with her family by her side on Friday evening, February 3, 2012, at the Northfield Hospital Long Term Care Center, at the age of 91.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield with Rev. John E. Quam officiating. Lunch will follow. Interment will be in Cannon Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral.
Arrangements are with Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.
Larry Foster
Larry Eugene Foster was born December 19, 1951, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Loyd and Patricia (Morgan) Foster. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Kalispell, Montana, and at age 16 to Northfield. He graduated Northfield High School in 1970 and following graduation he returned to Montana. He returned to Northfield in 1971 and began working in the auto parts business. On October 19, 1977, he and Deb (Peterson) DeWolfe were married in Watertown, South Dakota.
Carol Jean Sorenson
Carol Jean Sorenson, 78 of Northfield and Owatonna, passed away peacefully Tuesday January 31st with her loving family at her side at the Northfield Care Center in Northfield.
Carol Jean was born October 5, 1933, in Greenvale Township and was the daughter of Harold and Verna (Howland) Muckey. Carol was baptized at the Congregational Church in Northfield. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1952. Before and after graduation, Carol worked at the Chris Christensen Bakery in Northfield.
Dominick Costa
Dominick Maurice Costa was born June 30, 1922, in Brazil, Indiana, to Giuseppe and Domenica (Marietta) Costa. He was raised on the family farm at Brick Chapel and baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1939. Following his education he worked on the family farm until moving to Minnesota in the early 1940's. He settled in the Rosemount/Farmington area and worked with electronics and as a mechanic, along with various other jobs. Delores Weed
Delores Margaret Balfe Weed was born February 6, 1925, in Kilkenny, Minnesota, to Michael and Hattie (Born) Balfe. She attended St. Canice Parochial School and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1943. She married Willis “Bill” Weed on October 25, 1947, and in 1948, they moved to Northfield. They later divorced. In 1968, Delores began working at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church and remained there until retiring in 1997. Her service and dedication to St.
Richard Douglass
Richard (Dick) Douglass, 80, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Ellen, was by his side when he died at the home of his oldest son, Patrick, in Northfield, Minn.
Richard Haydon Douglass was born March 18, 1931, in Morris, Minn. to Frank A. and Beatrice (Haydon) Douglass. The family moved to Lakefield, Minn. in 1936. He graduated from the Lakefield Public High School in 1949 and from the University of Minnesota in 1953, the latter with a degree in journalism.
Francis Pinc
Francis Pinc, age 53, of Northfield, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Faribault.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 24th at 10:30 am from the Church of St. Dominic’s in Northfield with burial at the Northfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Francis Pinc, the son of Emmanuel and Beverly (Schuette) Pinc was born on November 21, 1958 in Northfield. He attended Northfield Schools and graduated from Northfield High School in1977. Francis then attended the Faribault Vo-Tech School. After his schooling, Francis started working for D&S Cement. Later he worked at the MVE Welding Company in New Prague. Francis later worked for Cardinal Glass as a fork-lift operator and continued working at McLane in Northfield.
Francis was united in marriage to Denise Tuma on June 8, 1991 at the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Pearl Law, age 85 of Northfield, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Monday, January 23rd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield with visitation Monday at the Church from 11:00 am until the time of Services.
Alice Ims
Alice Mae Gregerson Ims was born April 26, 1919, in Bert, North Dakota, to Norman and Norma (Knaus) Gregerson. As a girl she moved with her family to a farm near Nerstrand and attended country school. She graduated from Randolph High School in 1937 and received her teacher’s training at Normal School in Red Wing. Her first teaching job was teaching grades 1-8 at a country school near Dennison. She married Eugene Jerome “Gene” Ims on July 3, 1942, at her parent’s farm near Nerstrand.
Wanda Wendland
Wanda Marceil Pyle Wendland was born December 23, 1927, on the family farm near Bryant, Indiana, to Jesse and Bernice (Loyer) Pyle. She was raised on the family farm and attended school in Bryant. Following graduation from Bryant High School in 1945, she attended North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Education.

Jack Gordon Johnson, age 83 of Northfield, formerly of Babbitt, died Monday evening, January 16, 2012, at the care center of the Northfield Retirement Community.
April Kramer
April Kramer, age 34 of Northfield, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester following a two year battle with leukemia. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, January 19th at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Northfield with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8:00 pm Wednesday at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and at the Church on Thursday 1 hour prior to Services.
April Christina Kramer was born April 14, 1977 in Waseca, MN, daughter of Ronald and Carol (Frantum) Nelson. She was baptized at the Medo Lutheran Church and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca. April was raised and attended school in Waseca, graduating from Waseca High School in 1995. She enjoyed playing tennis in school and was the stat keeper for the boys basketball team for a number of seasons.
April then went to Mankato State studying dental hygiene and community health.
Ella Aadahl
Ella Margaret Bjugan Aadahl was born October 20, 1915, on the family farm in Roscoe Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, to Louie and Jertine (Trelstad) Bjugan. She was baptized at home and confirmed at Stordahl Lutheran Church near Zumbrota. She attended District #50 county school and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1933. After her education she worked for various families in the area as a housekeeper. On June 26, 1940, she was united in marriage to Bennie Aadahl at Stordahl Lutheran. After marriage they farmed Bennie’s home farm and later rented a far
